X-strain

When native life was cataloged on Gaia, they found 2 very distinct domains of organisms with deep running differences in their genetic history. They were named X-strain and O-strain due to the physical appearance of parts of their genome X-strain organisms make up the bulk of profitable organisms and biotechnology reaped from the ecosystems of Gaia by the Eridani Trust. It was later discovered that X-strain organisms also existed on Persephone along with another domain unique to the planet, calling into question whether X-strain organisms were truly native to the planets.

X-strain organisms were developed by the Lemurians and brought with them to worlds they colonized, at least Gaia and Persephone, long before humans settled there. X-strain organisms were considered obsolete by greater Lemurian society upon development of the Genomorph.
