Ilias is a Wormhole Engineer and an old friend of Rix. They attended the same university together despite Ilias being somewhat older. Due to trouble getting work, Ilias assisted Rix in several excursions mapping Gaia and studying its life. 5 years before being assigned to Daedalus 13, Ilias left to pursue a position using wormhole physics.
