Sirius Conflict

A conflict between the Eridani Trust and the Sirius Military Consulate sparked by the destruction of the wormhole between Sirius and Janus, the Sirius Conflict began on the 150th anniversary of the colonization of Janus. Fought on Gaia, Janus, Tau Ceti, and Proserpina, it resulted in the destruction of the Janus-Proserpina wormhole and establishment of the Sirius Military Consulate as the dominant power in the worlds beyond Sirius.

History

The Eridani Trust was formed in the early 22nd century as a conglomeration of several large companies. Through their pooled resources, it financed the Daedalus voyage to Janus, and then subsequent voyages to Tau Ceti, Gaia, and Proserpina. As the Eridani Trust the only source of ownership in this Sirius corridor, everyone worked with or for the Trust in one way or another. One such group was the Trust's own security force, the Military Defense Force of Eridani. Often butting heads with the corridor's populace, the trust's sympathies began to drift, especially on Gaia. The destruction of the Sirius wormhole in a terrorist attack became the perfect opportunity for a military coup of the trust, and the Sirius Military Consulate was born.
