Corporate Manorialism is an economic theory that describes the formation of super companies gaining total control over many adjacent sectors of industry, leading to a stagnation of competition and innovation. By being no longer able to reward innovation, they have developed many honorary paid titles obtained largely through inheritance and nepotism. The Eridani Trust is commonly used as an example, since it controlled the entire Sirius corridor before the Sirius Conflict. James' parents were high ranking members of the Eridani Trust.
