James

Born on Janus as an employee of the Eridani Trust, James is the son of two of its directors. During his childhood he grew to resent his parents' occupation as they became more involved in the politics and operations of the Trust. When his parents were trapped on the Earth side of the Sirius-Janus wormhole collapse, he at first remained neutral but later began to run supplies for the Sirius Military Consulate. James somewhat approves of the SMCs actions, believing the Eridani Trust it had overthrown to be corrupt. He signed on to the Daedalus 13 mission to earn money for a trip through the wormhole system to Bellona. Not being on good terms with his parents influenced his decision to pass 5 years on the ship. To the best of knowledge, his parents still live on Earth and have suffered immense financial losses after the rise of the SMC.

Personality

James is an ISFP Myers Briggs type. While he recognizes the necessity of working with others, he is most comfortable doing his own thing. He tends to think living in the moment and addressing the problems at hand is often more useful and efficient than looking at the big picture. James highly values personal concerns when solving problems, and thinks the world would be a simpler place if people were more honest with themselves. James often feels constrained when planning ahead and values having a lot of options. He can be excited by unexpected problems.
